COMPLIANCE POSITIONING
Last Updated: July 24, 2026
FreeCreditSnapshot is designed as self-directed educational software. The user remains responsible for every document, claim, dispute, report, mailing, and submission made using the platform.
Educational software, not a credit repair organization:
FreeCreditSnapshot provides self-directed educational software, credit-report analysis, dispute-document drafting assistance, funding-readiness information, and organizational tools. It is not a credit repair organization, credit services organization, law firm, financial advisor, lender, broker, consumer reporting agency, furnisher, or debt-relief service.
User controls every action:
Every letter, identity theft report, dispute, mailing, upload, submission, or follow-up action is reviewed, approved, and taken by the user. FreeCreditSnapshot does not act as the user's agent, representative, attorney, credit repair company, or mailing service unless a separate feature expressly states otherwise.
No charge for dispute outcomes:
Dispute and identity-theft document tools are provided for self-help and education. FreeCreditSnapshot does not charge any fee in exchange for account deletion, credit-score improvement, reporting changes, dispute success, bureau response, funding approval, or any other result.
No guarantees:
Results depend on individual facts, bureau and furnisher records, identity-theft documentation, user submissions, and third-party decisions outside our control. FreeCreditSnapshot does not guarantee deletions, corrections, blocks, score increases, funding approvals, credit approvals, response timelines, or legal outcomes.
No legal advice:
Consumer-rights references, FCRA citations, identity-theft package language, FTC report guidance, and generated drafts are informational only. Users should consult a qualified attorney for legal advice about their specific situation.
Responsible use:
Users must submit only their own information or information they are legally authorized to use. Users are responsible for confirming accuracy before sending any document or filing any FTC, bureau, furnisher, CFPB, court, or government submission.
Compliance positioning:
FreeCreditSnapshot is positioned as credit dispute intelligence and self-help educational software. It helps users understand possible inaccuracies, organize records, draft documents, and exercise rights that already belong to them under applicable law.
